Joseph G. Lake has had a long career in both charity work and in entertainment / production. Joe’s amazing success in charity started in 1982 when he founded The International Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) with business partner Mick Shannon and celebrities John Schneider and Marie Osmond. CMNH quickly grew to benefit 170 Children’s Hospitals throughout North America. Thanks to Joe’s and Mick’s innovative fundraising and corporate marketing, CMNH has raised over $6 billion dollars for the hospitals. Although Joe has retired from the day to day operations of CMNH, it is still one of the top grossing charities of all times and USA Today named them as the #1 Charity in America.
Joe started his journey by graduating from The University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Banking / Finances and went on to get a Business Law degree from The University of Southern California. At a young age Joe developed an interest in politics, as a Republican. He started his political participation as a Young Republican and has managed mayoral, congressional, and senate campaigns. Two highlights of his years associated with politics is being a member of the White House Staff as an advance man and also as a political advisor to President George W. Bush.
Coupled with his background in politics, Joe has had extensive experience in talent management and production. In addition to producing CMNH’s live 21 hour telethon for 24 years, he has also produced other charity events for The March of Dimes, Larry King Cardiac Foundation, NFL Quarterback Golf Challenge, Beating the Odds Foundation, Unity Shoppe Santa Barbara, End Hunger Network, Drew Bledsoe Foundation, Forever Young Foundation, Eye Care 4 Kids, and The Christmas Box House. Also, Joe has had the opportunity to produce celebrity events for Disney, PBS, Dick Clark, the NFL and NBC, including award shows, stadium shows and several stage shows in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Joe has had the pleasure of working with celebrities including: Michael Douglas, Jeff Bridges, Joe Pesci, Catherine Zeta Jones, Gary Sinese, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion, David Foster, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, STYX, Justin Bieber, the Jonas Brothers, all the Osmonds, David Letterman, Jay Leno, George Lopez, Tony Bennett, Bob Hope, Wayne Newton, Mary Hart, The Beach Boys, Robin Roberts, Bill Cosby, Leigh Steinberg, Larry King, Kenny Loggins, David Copperfield, and the list goes on.
This inspiring man served as the talent coordinator and Executive Producer of the Stadium of Fire for 18 years. The Stadium of Fire is a live 4th of July show attended by 60,000 people annually.
Of all the amazing accomplishments Joe has experienced, he will still maintain that his greatest accomplishment in life is his family.
